starting off

This is my first shot at this blogging business. We'll see how it goes, and if I post anything worth reading, or if I keep it up at all.

For my purposes as much as anything,

WIP:
  • Malabrigo multidirectional scarf, over half done. This will be done soon.
  • Lamb's Pride bulky sweater, back, half the front. I dread the sleeves, which will require extra length stuck in there.
  • Off needles but not finished yet, little sweater for darling daughter. I should be sewing the pieces together instead of posting here. Heh.
  • Abandoned for months, feather and fan shawl. Need to get back to this.

I have been listening to the lime and violet podcasts while at work at the Most Boring Job Ever, and I want to try socks. Worsted weight socks, because I'm not knitting all of those teensy tiny stitches that Lanie loves so much (0000s are for masochists, honey). I wish she was here to teach me socks as planned, instead of me moving here.

How's that for a rambling, boring first post? I feel like I should break a bottle of champagne over the bow.

Hey girl, great start!!! Keep it going and I'll check often!!!

Bill wanted me to be a jerk (imagine your brother-in-law saying this!) and say something like I'm knitting much more complicated stuff than you but I'm not!!!!

I have restarted an afghan and I'm thinking about doing the "Hot Da**" one. It sounds cool but I can't find a picture of it yet. It's just garter with a wrap every 6 rows.

We may get to start knitting weekly with 2 of the girls Mama knitted with from Debbie's shop. Maybe they'll teach me how to do socks. One of the ladies said that she can help me finish that quilt that I never finished.

Are you watching Knitty Gritty? It really has had some neat items and techniques on it.

Lots of love to the my whole family. Glad you have a little warmer weather there now.

Heh. Tell Bill I want to see him knit lace :)

I do watch Knitty Gritty sometimes but I don't have a lot of time these days and I'm spending it on all of the crap TV that I watch (Survivor is back on!).

Yea I know, I addicted to Grey's Anatomy, CSI, American Idol and Nashville Star, and the new 24. We watched the first season of 24 and now we've decided to try and catch up on 2-5 this summer if we can.

I did my first hat which was fun but I misjudged the yarn and had to finish with the band yarn and an adorable pompom. Turned out too young for me. Thought about sending up to you to see if Lauren could wear it. Great teal colors and fun fur for the band and pompom. Think she'd wear it?? Does she like hats?
